Bare green hills, as if sculpted by a large, restless hand.
The slanting light dramatically illuminates white houses with large chimneys against a dark background. Small harbours, boats, and the harsh climate of the Isle of Skye. I want to stay here and paint the raw beauty and wildness of this place. I must come back here.
The trip was focused on hiking in the mountains and national parks. Some pictures were created standing up, others on my lap, on the ground… wherever I managed to pull the sketchbook out of my backpack. A maximum of six colours were used, water sometimes from a stream, from a puddle in a rock, or from a plastic bottle cap.
